SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – A total of 1,942 student-athletes were named to the 2024–25 Academic Honor Roll released Tuesday by League officials, surpassing last year’s total by more than 100. Honorees represent all nine full-time member institutions and six associate members, competing across 17 sports.
 
Qualifications

• Student-athletes must have at least a 3.2 cumulative grade-point average (GPA), on a 4.0 scale, for the year awarded.
• Student-athletes must have used a season of competition (a year of athletic eligibility) in the sport in which he/she is nominated.

By The Numbers

• A total of 1,942 student-athletes across 17 sports were selected to the honor roll with 154 of those earning dual-distinction for cross country and track and field.
• For the third straight year, St. Thomas headlined the honorees turning in the most total selections and total number of student-athletes.
• The Tommies led the way with 333 total selections while South Dakota followed in second with 264 and South Dakota State was third with 243 to round out the top three teams with the most selections.
• St. Thomas’ 299 total student-athletes paced the League and were followed up by South Dakota’s 242 and South Dakota State's 219 total student-athletes, respectively.
