UST’s Wetter, USD’s Farris garner the Kwik Star #SummitVB weekly accolades

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – St. Thomas middle blocker Megan Wetter and South Dakota defensive specialist/ libero Kamryn Farris are the recipients of the Summit League Kwik Star Volleyball Peak Performers of the Week league officials announced Tuesday. Wetter claimed her first career offensive honor, while Farris has earned the defensive award all three times this season.
 
Wetter was named to the Bryant All-Tournament Team after totaling 41 kills, 3.82 kills per set and a .536 hitting percentage during the Tommies’ 3-0 weekend. The Monticello, Minn., native began her weekend with 14 kills, a .407 hitting percentage and one block in a victory over Army. 
 
The UST senior tallied 12 kills, a .556 hitting percentage, and four total blocks in a three-set match with Bryant. She then produced 15 kills and a .625 attack percentage against Stony Brook.
 
Farris totaled 58 digs in the Coyotes’ home opening tournament. The Lansing, Kan., native had three assists and 17 digs in the opening-match victory against Green Bay.

The USD senior then earned 25 digs along with 13 assists in a thrilling five-set victory against Florida Gulf Coast. She then produced 16 digs, and two assists in the final match against (17) Kansas to round out tournament play.
