SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Kansas City duo of forward Jeremy Francou and goalkeeper Marc Popow swept the Kwik Star Summit League Men’s Soccer Peak Performer of the Week accolades, league officials announced Tuesday. Popow earned his first career defensive award, while Francou garnered his first offensive award of the season and second of his career.

The award-earning duo helped the Roos register back-to-back shutout victories last week over a pair of Division I programs from Illinois. In the 2-0 win over SIUE, Popow made a trio of saves including one from the penalty spot in the 17^th minute to help preserve the first clean sheet of his collegiate career. He backed that up with his second straight shutout, making a pair of saves in the 3-0 win over Western Illinois.

Offensively, Francou helped the Roos race out to a 2-0 lead on SIUE, adding their second goal of the opening half on a 17-yard strike in the 30^th minute.

The Chartes, France native opened the scoring in the fifth minute in the 3-0 triumph over the Leathernecks. He then added an assist on the Roos’ second goal as they blanked the former Summit League foe to improve to 4-1-4 on the season.

Francou is now third among Summit players with five goals and 13 points as the Roos roll into Summit League play with a four-match unbeaten streak.
