UD's Schroeder, Omaha's Klein net Kwik Star #SummitMSOC weekly honors

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Delaware defender Jan Schroeder and Omaha forward Theo Klein garnered the latest Kwik Star Summit League Men’s Soccer Peak Performer of the Week accolades, league officials announced Tuesday. Schroeder earned his first career defensive award, while Klein netted his first of the season and second of his career following the opening weekend of conference play.

Schroeder helped the Blue Hens to a 1-0-1 win as the program remained one of 18 Division I squads that have yet to suffer a loss on the season. The Wolfersheim, Germany native assisted on UD’s goal in a 1-1 draw with George Washington and set up the game-winning goal in a 2-1 triumph over UMass in the Blue Hens’ Summit League debut.

Delaware is tied for second nationally in winning percentage (.944) and goal differential (+22) through nine matches.

Klein’s tally from the penalty spot proved to be the game-winner in a 2-0 victory over St. Thomas as the Mavericks won their second straight match and opened conference play with three points.
