Pioneers, Coyotes, Tommies garner Kwik Star #SummitSD weekly accolades

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Denver duo of Dakotah Parker and Savanna Berry, South Dakota’s Nick Rounds, and St. Thomas’ Brooke Gothard were named the latest Summit League Kwik Star Swimming and Diving Peak Performers of the Week, League officials released Tuesday. Parker and Berry collected the men’s and women’s diver awards, respectively, while Rounds and Gothard earned the men’s and women’s swimmer honors, respectively.

For the men, Rounds powered the Yotes to a win over the Tommies in the St. Thomas dual by posting first-place finishes in five different events. Denver’s Parker also had a stellar week, earning two NCAA Zone Cuts in a victory over Colorado School of Mines 190-49. The senior won the 1-meter and 3-meter dives with scores of 325.05 and 336.15, respectively.

Gothard shined in the women’s 200 medley relay, 50 breast, and 100 IM for the Tommies as the freshman collected the first weekly award of her career following the South Dakota Dual. Denver’s Berry was dominant once again in the dual against Colorado School of Mines, sweeping both diving events with a score of 279.23 in the 1-meter and 291.38 in the 3-meter. The Lodi, Calif., native’s scores were enough for her first NCAA Zone Cuts of the year in both events.
