SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Kansas City infielder Leilani Bustamante and pitcher Delilah Robles were tallied as this week’s Kwik Star Summit League Softball Peak Performer and Pitcher of the Week, League officials announced Tuesday.
Bustamante started all three games in Kansas City’s sweep of South Dakota State, going 5-for-11 at the plate for a .455 batting average. The sophomore totaled two doubles, two runs scored and two RBIs, delivering consistent production throughout the weekend.
Defensively, the San Bernadino, Calif., native was solid at third base, recording two putouts and 12 assists while helping anchor the Roos’ infield in all three victories.
Robles pitched in all three games over the weekend, going 2-0 with a save while logging 11.0 innings and posting a 3.82 ERA as the Roos secured the series sweep vs. the Jackrabbits. The junior allowed just nine hits across her three appearances.
The Pflugerville, Texas, native opened the weekend with 4.0 innings and two earned runs in the 10-4 win before returning later that day to throw 6.0 innings in a 7-5 victory. Robles closed out the series with a one-inning save in a 4-2 win, capping a strong all-around performance.
The awards mark the first time since 2024 that a KC player took home the honor.
