UMass and ORU claim initial #SummitMSOC weekly honors

The Minutemen and Golden Eagles opened the 2026 campaign with 1-0-1 campaigns

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Massachusetts midfielder Thomas Wadas and Oral Roberts goalkeeper Cameron Parma earned the initial Summit League Men’s Soccer Peak Performer of the Week accolades, league officials announced Tuesday. Wadas captured the offensive honor, while Parma earned the defensive nod.

Wadas scored twice in the opening 12 minutes to help the Minutemen secure a 3-1 victory over No. 24 UConn on Sunday. The Ludlow, Mass., native opened the scoring just 45 seconds into the match with a left-footed strike from the upper-left corner of the box before adding his second goal in the 11th minute.
 
The sophomore finished the match with four points and one game-winning goal, ranking second among Summit League players in points through the opening week of the season.

Parma made his collegiate debut in goal by recording a clean sheet in Oral Roberts’ 2-0 season-opening victory over UC Riverside. The Dallas native stopped two shots to help the Golden Eagles secure the shutout before making six saves in a 1-1 draw against UIC.
 
Parma’s biggest save came in the 87th minute when he denied a penalty kick to preserve the tie. The redshirt freshman finished the opening weekend with eight saves.
