SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – South Dakota’s Isaac Ochoa and North Dakota’s Olivia Correale earned the fourth Summit League Cross Country Peak Performer of the Week honors of the season, league officials announced Tuesday. Both runners had the fastest times amongst Summit League athletes at the Gans Creek Classic.
Ochoa placed 13th in the men’s 8K at the Gans Creek Classic, clocking a time of 23:00.9. The South Dakota junior recorded the second-fastest time in Summit League history and the fastest 8K time in Coyote history, both on any course. The Norfolk, Nebraska, native was the top Summit League finisher at the meet.
Correale paced the Fighting Hawks to a fourth-place team finish in the women’s 6K, finishing ahead of No. 22 Arkansas and placing 15th overall with a personal-best time of 19:55.3. The North Dakota junior became the second woman in Summit League history to break the 20-minute mark in the 6K and recorded the sixth-fastest time in league history.
