North Dakota State, Oral Roberts, South Dakota take home weekly honors

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Another week filled with personal-best performances and top-25 national marks highlighted the weekend's Summit League indoor track and field competition. South Dakota's Brithton Senior and North Dakota State's Alex Talley notched the men's track and field athlete of the week accolades while Oral Roberts' Sasha Wells and NDSU's Akealy Moton secured the honors on the women's side.

Senior claimed the 60-meter hurdles event at the Dakota Realty Invitational after clocking a season-best 7.90 in the event. His winning time broke the DakotaDome facility record that was previous held by his hurdles coach Teivaskie Lewin. Senior extended his league lead and moved to 14th nationally in the NCAA.

Talley claimed his third-consecutive athlete of the week honor after he added a foot to his career-best in the shot put. He won the event at the Jim Emmerich Alumni Invitational with a toss of 65-02 (19.86m). He is the third Bison ever to top 65 feet in the event and currently ranks fourth in the nation.

At the Dakota Realty Invitational, Wells picked up victories in both the 60-meter dash and the 60-meter hurdles while helping the Golden Eagles' 4x400-meter relay team clinch a second-place finish.  She clocked a personal-best time of 7.48 to claim the 60-meter dash and then ran the hurdles in 8.34, just 0.04 seconds off her own school record in the event.

Moton won the shot put at the Jim Emmerich Invitational with a winning toss of 56-6 (17.22m). She is currently ranked second overall in the nation and is yet to be defeated in the event, topping 56-4 at every meet.
