UND, USD earn final #SummitITF weekly honors of season

North Dakota, South Dakota secure the final indoor track and field weekly honors of the season

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Another trio of South Dakota Coyotes and a North Dakota Fighting Hawks notched impressive marks the final weekend before the league championships to claim the last Summit League Indoor Track and Field athlete of the week honors of the season. South Dakota’s Demar Francis and Ethan Bray took home the awards on the men’s side while teammate Sara Reifenrath and North Dakota’s Destinee Rose-Haas secured the accolades on the women’s.
 
At the SDSU Last Chance meet, Francis clocked a 47.51 to win the 400-meter event. His winning time moved him to the top of the league rankings this season. His time was three seconds faster than his previous collegiate best in the 400 and moved him to fourth in program history.
 
For the second-consecutive week, Bray vaulted a lifetime best mark of 18-06.50 (5.65m) to win the pole vault at the SDSU Last Chance meet. He ranks fourth in the NCAA with the winning mark. Bray’s vault marked his third-straight meet of vaulting above 18 feet, progressing each week.
 
Reifenrath took home the 200-meter title at the SDSU Last Chance meet with a winning time of 24.38. She owns the top mark in the league this season in both the 200 and the 400 events. Reifenrath is the only league athlete to clock faster than 24.38 in the 200 this season.
 
Rose-Haas won the weight throw at the UND Tune-Up with a personal-best launch of 69-04.75 (21.15m). Her winning mark was her fourth personal-best mark and fifth win of the season in the event. Rose-Haas leads the league in the event and ranks 15th overall in the nation this season.

  • Ranks fourth in the nation in the event
