SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Drake’s Gabriel Sardo and Denver’s Camille Verden-Anderson claimed this week’s Summit League men’s and women’s tennis athletes of the week after completing the week undefeated. It is the first career honor for both Sardo and Verden-Anderson.
 
Sardo went a perfect 2-0 on the week in helping Drake remain on atop the league standings. In the Bulldogs’ 6-1 win over Oral Roberts, Sardo posted a 6-3, 6-1 win over Eddy Leardini on the No. 5 court.  The day before, he recorded Drake’s only point in a 6-1 loss at No. 30 Tulsa. He matched up against Daniel Siddall at the No. 5 spot and claimed a 6-4, 7-5 victory.
 
The 59^th-ranked doubles tandem of Verden-Anderson and Britt Pursell clinched a 6-3 win at the top spot of the lineup in doubles to help secure the doubles point and give Denver an early 1-0 lead over Omaha. She then matched up with Colby Kelley on the No. 4 court in singles and claimed a 6-1, 6-0 victory to help Denver to a 7-0 sweep over the Mavericks.
