USD’s Jaeger takes home TicketSmarter #SummitTEN weekly accolades

Coyotes’ Jaeger claims her first career athlete of the week honor

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – South Dakota’s Estella Jaeger picked up her first two wins in a USD uniform en route to this week’s TicketSmarter Summit League Women’s Tennis Athlete of the Week award, league officials announced Tuesday. Jaeger helped the Coyotes split their season-opening competition.
 
In the season-opening 6-1 loss at Kansas State, Jaeger secured a three-set victory (4-6, 7-5, 10-5) over Rosanna Maffei, who is ranked 125 by the ITA. On the No. 2 court, she came back from a set down to win the second set 7-5 and then claim the tie-break 10-5 to win the match.
 
In South Dakota’s 6-1 win over Missouri State, Jaeger picked up her second-consecutive singles victory. On the No. 3 singles court, she defeated Missouri State’s Kate Miley in straight sets (6-1, 6-0).
