SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Omaha’s Todd Chen and Oral Roberts’ Oleksandra Nahurska secured this week’s TicketSmarter Summit League Men’s and Women’s Tennis Athlete of the Week honors, league officials released Tuesday.
 
Chen went 3-0 on the weekend to help the Mavericks pick up wins over Youngstown State (4-3) and Marquette (5-2). Against Youngstown State, Chen teamed up with Victor Sklenka at the No. 3 doubles court and was ahead 5-4 before the Mavericks clinched the doubles point.
 
On the No. 4 singles court against the Penguins, Chen notched a three-set victory (6-3, 6-7, 6-1) to help the Mavericks clinch a 4-3 win.
 
Against Marquette, he teamed up with Alvaro Quintana on the No. 3 doubles court and started the match with a 7-5 win to clinch the doubles point.
 
He then went on to the No. 4 singles court and defeated his opponent 6-1, 6-1 to help secure the Mavericks a 5-2 win over Marquette.
 
Nahurska continues to remain undefeated in singles action at the No. 1 spot as she helped the Golden Eagles to a 1-1 weekend. She started the weekend defeating Louisiana Tech’s Leonie Schuknecht 6-4, 4-6, 1-0 (10-7) on the top court giving ORU one of its two points against Louisiana Tech.
 
In the 4-0 win over Grambling State, Nahurska teamed up with Luna Morini to clinch a 6-0 win to help secure the doubles point. She then went on to defeat Grambling State’s Lungile Ntuli (6-1, 6-0) to help propel ORU to the 4-0 victory.
