SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Drake’s Matija Matic and North Dakota’s Andrea Jansson picked up this week’s TicketSmarter Summit League Men’s and Women’s Tennis Athlete of the Week accolades, league officials released Tuesday.
 
Matic guided Drake to a 2-0 weekend against Oral Roberts (W, 5-2) and Marquette (W, 5-2). In the Bulldogs’ league-opening win over the Golden Eagles, Drake secured the doubles point and an early 1-0 lead after Matic teamed up with Evan Fragistas and collected their sixth consecutive match together with a 6-2 win on the No. 2 court. In singles play, he gave the Bulldogs their fifth and final point of the match with his 6-4, 6-2 win over Ezequiel Monferrer on the No. 2 court.
 
In the win over Marquette, Matic and Fragistas again teamed up on the No. 1 court of doubles and were leading 5-2 and went unfinished after Drake clinched the doubles point. On the top court of singles play, Matic clinched the victory for the Bulldogs after he secured a 6-2, 7-6 (7-5) win.
 
Jansson helped the Fighting Hawks improve to 3-1 in league play after guiding UND to a 5-2 victory over Kansas City. Jansson teamed up with Sapir Sela on the No. 1 court of doubles and notched a 6-3 win en route to UND taking an early 1-0 with the doubles point.
 
On the No. 2 court in singles, Jansson helped give the Fighting Hawks a 3-1 lead over the Roos after picking up a 6-3, 6-2 win over Michela Xibilia.
