SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Summit League officials released the 2022 Summit League Men’s Tennis Championship bracket Saturday with Denver earning the top seed after claiming the Summit League regular season title with a 5-0 regular season record.
This is the seventh time that the Pioneers have earned The Summit League regular season crown and claimed the No. 1 seed. Denver (14-6, 5-0 SL) will meet No. 4 Illinois State (8-16, 2-3 SL) on Friday, April 22 at 3 p.m. CT for the men’s first semifinal match of the day.
Earning the No. 2 spot is the Drake Bulldogs (11-10, 4-1 SL) who will match up with third-seeded North Dakota (12-8, 3-2 SL) at 6 p.m. CT Friday. Drake took the No. 2 seed after defeating the Fighting Hawks 6-1 earlier today in the last regular season match of the year.
The 2022 Summit League Tennis Championships will be hosted April 22-23 at the Koch Family Tennis Center in Omaha, Neb. This is the second time in league history that the Mavericks have hosted the tennis championships, the last being in 2016.
The championship match is set for Saturday, April 23 at 3 p.m. CT with the winner advancing to the NCAA tournament to represent The Summit League as the automatic qualifier.
