UST’s Kulesa, NDSU’s Loven receive TicketSmarter #SummitBSB weekly awards

Kulesa batted .500 on the week, while Loven tossed seven strikeouts over seven innings

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – St. Thomas infielder Sam Kulesa and North Dakota State lefthander Max Loven collected the latest TicketSmarter #SummitBSB weekly awards, league officials announced Monday.
 
Kulesa registered a .500 batting average (7-for-14) and posted six hits in a series victory over Western Illinois. The Minneapolis, Minn., native kicked off the series against the Leathernecks going 2-for-3 with a walk and registered an RBI single in the 4-1 win.
 
After collecting a single and a stolen base in game two of the series, Kulesa came back to go 3-for-5 with three RBI in the 12-2 series finale win. In total, Kulesa posted a .500 slugging percentage and a .533 on-base percentage. In the field, the redshirt sophomore second basemen played error-free defense on 13 chances and hasn’t had an error in his last 22 games.
 
In NDSU’s 8-3 road triumph over South Dakota State, Loven put together seven innings of efficiency on the mound, striking out seven Jackrabbit batters with one walk. It marked the seventh game this season with four or more strikeout for the Brooklyn Park, Minn., native and helped the Bison remain in the lead in the league standings at 12-4 overall.
