SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- Oral Roberts outfield Caleb Denny and South Dakota State righthander Ryan Bourassa claimed the latest TicketSmarter #SummitBSB weekly awards, league officials announced Monday.
Denny collected his second weekly award in three weeks after batting .533 during a 3-1 week for the Golden Eagles. He went 2-for-5 with a home run and two RBI in a non-conference win at Air Force, then went 6-for-10 with two home runs and seven RBI in a series win at home vs. St. Thomas.
In ORU’s two victories over the Tommies, the Owassa, Okla., native went 6-for-7, scored four runs and added a home run and three RBI in each of those wins.
Bourassa came out the Jacks’ bullpen to finish both of SDSU’s 8-3 victories over Omaha with a pair of scoreless appearances. In the game-one victory, he picked up his fourth save of the season after fanning eight Mavericks in three one-hit innings.
The West Fargo, N.D., native struck out the side in the final frame to clinch the series win for the Jackrabbits. He finished the series by getting 11 of his 12 outs via the strikeout, while allowing only one hit and one walk.
