Denver’s Sallay, Omaha’s Aragon collect seasons final TicketSmarter #SummitTEN weekly accolades

SIOUX FALLS, S.D.Denver’s Peter Sallay and Omaha’s Jessica Aragon garnered the season’s final TicketSmarter Summit League Men’s and Women’s Tennis Peak Performers of the Week awards, League officials announced on Tuesday.
 
Sallay won both of his singles matches and added a doubles win in the final week of the regular season, helping the Pioneers secure their fourth straight Summit League regular season title. The Budapest, Hungary native defeated Omaha’s Hugo Piles Ballester, 6-2, 6-1, at the No. 3 spot and won in straight sets against North Dakota’s Edmond Aynedjian, 6-3, 6-4.
 
Sallay added a third win, doing so with a 6-3 decision at the No. 1 doubles spot with teammate Anish Sriniketh against the Fighting Hawks.
 
Aragon went a combined 2-0 with wins at the No. 1 doubles spot and No. 2 singles position to help the Mavericks secure the final spot in the 2023 Summit League Championship. The Plano, Texas native teamed up with Ines Absisan to collect a 6-2 win in doubles play and added a 6-2, 6-3 singles win to earn the Mavericks the third point in the match with South Dakota.
