North Dakota, South Dakota pick up peak performer weekly accolades

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – North Dakota and South Dakota put up personal best performances to garner the latest Summit League TicketSmarter Outdoor Track and Field Peak Performer of the Week honors, League officials announced Tuesday.

North Dakota’s Luke Labatte and South Dakota’s Jack Durst earned the honors on the men’s side while the Coyote duo of Jacy Pulse and Lydia Knapp secured the awards for the women.

At the Drake Relays, Labatte shaved time off his 3,000-meter steeplechase school record to finish fourth. He clocked a personal-best time of 8:41.75 which moved him to No. 20 in the nation in the event.

Durst cleared a season-best height of 6-11.5 (2.12m) in the high jump to win the event at The Monday Meet. The height ranks 44th nationally and 25th in the NCAA West Region.

Pulse finished the week with a handful of top-three finishes. Highlighting her week was a Drake Relays title in the 400m hurdles with a school record time of 56.79. Her time ranks her 13th in the NCAA this spring.

She also ran on the Coyotes’ school record 4x100m (44.63) and 4x200m (1:35.92) relays at the Drake Relays. The 4x200m relay team came in second and the 4x100m relay in third.

Earlier in the week she clocked a personal-best time of 11.66 in the 100m to finish second at The Monday Meet.
