EUGENE, Ore. -- Oral Roberts brings the nation's longest winning streak at 21 consecutive victories into its Super Regional with Oregon at the Ducks' PK Park this weekend. Game one is set for Friday at 7 p.m. CT/5 p.m. PT and will be televised on ESPNU.
The Golden Eagles started the streak back in Iowa on April 23 and has seen them win games in Oklahoma (11), Minnesota (3), Kansas (1), Illinois (3) and North Dakota (3) along the way and they will look to extend it in the Pacific Northwest as the program plays a game on Oregon soil for the first time. The 21-game winning streak is the longest ever by a Summit League program and one more overall win will give the program 50 on the season, which will tie the 2004 ORU squad for most wins in a season by a League team.
During the streak, ORU is batting .340 as a team and the pitching staff boasts a 3.17 ERA with 214 strikeouts over 190 innings. The ORU defense has committed just 12 errors during that stretch and leads all DI teams with a.984 fielding percentage on the season. First baseman Jake McMurray has hit all six of his home runs this season and driven in 24 runs during the streak, while hitting .389 at the dish.
ORU is the only DI program in the country ranked in the top five in batting average (.324; fourth), earned run average (3.83; fifth) and fielding percentage (.984; first).
