Women's Basketball - November 21

Jackrabbits top No. 4/10 Louisville at Bad Boy Mowers Battle 4 Atlantis

South Dakota State knocked off No. 4/10 Louisville 65-55 to pick up the program’s first top-10 win in the Division I era.  SDSU’s previous highest-ranked wins were over No. 12 Syracuse in March of 2019 (75-64) and No. 12 Penn State in December of 2013 (83-79).

Women's Basketball - December 10

South Dakota State captures victory over No. 24/25 Kansas State

The Jackrabbits picked up their second win over a ranked opponent in non-conference play after outlasting No. 24/25 Kansas State. South Dakota State held off a late surge by the Wildcats to take the victory 82-78. The win marked the program's first win over K-State.

Men's Basketball - January 23

Western Illinois’ Trent Massner drops 46 points against North Dakota

Western Illinois guard Trenton Massner broke the program’s single-game scoring record by dropping 46 points on North Dakota in a 92-80 win over the Fighting Hawks. Massner’s 46 points were the most scored by a Division I player in a non-overtime game during the 2022-23 season. He finished 9-for-12 from 3-point range, which also set a WIU single-game record and scored 33 of his career-high output in the second half.

Oral Roberts’ Max Abmas breaks League all-time record for triples made in a career

Oral Roberts’ Max Abmas made four 3-pointers in a 95-88 win at St. Thomas to break the Summit League’s all-time record for triples made in a career. Abmas passed former Kansas City standout Michael Watson on the all-time list with his third of the night. Watson made 391 in his career for the Roos from 2000-04. Abmas would finish his ORU career with 420 3-pointers and finish second on the League’s all-time scoring charts with 2,562 career points.

Indoor Track & Field - February 21

North Dakota State’s Jacob Rodin tied a #SummitITF single-season record for most weekly accolades

Bison senior Jacob Rodin earned five TicketSmarter Peak Performer of the Week honors, capturing his fifth on Feb. 21. Rodin tied for the most weekly honors in a single season in League history.

Denver sweeps #SummitSD titles

The Pioneer men’s team captured its ninth title in the last 10 Summit League Swimming and Diving Championships with a team score of 902 points while the women stood atop the podium for the 10th consecutive year with 1,047 points.

Women's Basketball - February 25

South Dakota State completes undefeated regular season

The Jackrabbits finished off a perfect regular season with a 92-67 road win over Oral Roberts. The Jackrabbits became the first team to win 18 League games since Northern Illinois accomplished the feat in 1993-94. It also marked the fifth time in conference history a team went undefeated during the regular season.

Indoor Track & Field - February 26

USD’s Mülla takes NCAA lead in pole vault at League Indoor Championships

South Dakota sophomore Marleen Mülla vaulted a personal best height of 14-11.25 (4.55m) to win the League indoor pole vault title and break the League Indoor Championship record. Her winning height topped the national ranks in the event and earned her a spot at the NCAA Indoor Championships.

Women’s Swimming & Diving - March 1

Denver Natalie Arky qualifies for NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships for the second straight season

Redshirt senior Natalie Arky qualified to compete at the NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships on Mar. 15-18 in Knoxville, Tenn. Arky was selected to compete in the 100 fly, 100 back and 200 back.

Indoor Track & Field - March 1

Four Coyotes advance to NCAA Indoor Championships

South Dakota earned four spots in the NCAA Indoor Championship in Alburquerque, N.M.. The quartet included three women’s pole vaulters in Marleen Mülla, Gen Hirata and Cassidy Mooneyhan, along with women’s high jumper Danii Anglin.

Oral Roberts clinches second #SummitMBB Championship title in last three seasons

Senior Max Abmas scored 26 points and dished out a season-high 11 assists as Oral Roberts routed North Dakota State 92-58 to give the Golden Eagles their second Summit League Men’s Basketball Championship title in the last three seasons. Abmas would earn his second Championship MVP accolade as the Summit League Player of the Year led the Golden Eagles to their 30th win of the season, which marked the first 30-win campaign in the program’s Division I history.

Indoor Track & Field - March 10

Pair of Coyotes finish top 10 at NCAAs

South Dakota sophomore Marleen Mülla and fourth-year junior Gen Hirata finished in the top 10 at the NCAA Championships in the pole vault. Mülla cleared 14-7.25 (4.45m) to finish on the podium in third place, garnering first team All-America honors. Hirata joined Mülla on the All-America first team after clearing a vault of 14-3.25 (4.35m) to finish eighth.

Women's Basketball - March 18

South Dakota State tops USC to advance in NCAA Tournament

The Jackrabbits’ Myah Selland dropped 29 points and nine rebounds to power ninth-seeded South Dakota State to a 62-57 overtime win over eighth-seeded Southern California in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament. Her 29 points were the most for any Summit League player in the NCAA postseason. The previous best was former teammate Macy Miller’s 28 points against Quinnipiac in the 2019 opening round.

Men's Swimming & Diving - March 30

Zyad Morsy qualifies for NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships

Denver sophomore diver Zyad Morsy qualified for the NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships thanks to a fifth-place finish on the platform (635.30) on the final day of competition at the NCAA Zone E Diving Championships. He punched his ticket to the NCAA Championships in the 3-meter dive with a combined score of 623.55. The Cairo, Egypt native is the first Denver diver since Ross Edfort in 2015 to qualify for the NCAA Championships. Morsy recorded scores of 295.60 (45th) in the 3-meter dive and 309.45 (32nd) in the platform dive.
