UNO's Gaubert, UND’s Sela capture seasons first TicketSmarter #SummitTEN weekly awards

SIOUX FALLS, S.D.Omaha’s Ethan Gaubert and North Dakota’s Sapir Sela claimed the season’s first TicketSmarter Summit League Men’s and Women’s Peak Performers of the Week, League officials announced on Tuesday.
 
Gaubert and the Mavericks competed in a pair of matches against Oklahoma State and UTRGV in which the sophomore went a combined 3-1 on the weekend, including a 2-0 ledger in singles action. The Melbourne, Australia native registered Omaha’s lone point against the Cowboys, coming back after the first set to win 0-6, 6-1, 6-3.
 
Against the Vaqueros, Gaubert captured a 6-0, 6-2 win at the No. 6 spot and teamed with Gabe Whiston at the third doubles position for a 6-3 win to help the Mavericks claim a point.
 
Sela went 3-1 in two matches against Montana State and Seattle. The Boca Raton, Fla., native finished with 2-0 doubles record at the No. 1 spot, winning by a 6-3 score against the Bobcats and a 7-5 victory over the Redhawks. At the No. 2 spot, Sela grabbed a 7-6 victory in the opening set before cruising to a 10-4 triumph in the tiebreaker.
