Denver’s Herrero Custa, KC’s Chrobak secure TicketSmarter #SummitTEN weekly awards

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Denver’s Nicolas Herrero Cuesta and Kansas City’s Catherine Chrobak earned the TicketSmarter Summit League Men’s and Women’s Peak Performers of the Week accolades, league officials announced on Tuesday.
 
Herrero Cuesta won all four of his combined singles and doubles matches in DU’s opening weekend on the road. The Segovia, Spain native started with a 6-4 win in doubles with partner Rikuto Yamaguchi before coming back from a set down at No. 1 singles and saving three match points in the third set to win the clinching point against Western Michigan.
 
In a 4-3 win at Purdue, he and Yamaguchi won another doubles match before Herrero Cuesta won in straight sets at the top spot, 6-0, 5-4.
 
Chrobak made her debut at the No. 1 singles position, recording a 6-2, 6-0 win against Saint Mary in an eventual 7-0 victory. The Montreal, Canada native also won her doubles match.
