SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Omaha’s Ryoma Mishiro and Andrea Burguete Beltran received the latest TicketSmarter Summit League Men’s and Women’s Peak Performers of the Week accolades, league officials announced on Tuesday.
Mishiro helped the Mavericks extend their winning streak to seven matches with a pair of victories against Marquette and Eastern Illinois. Against the Golden Eagles, Mishiro teamed with Quintan Van Wijk at the No. 2 doubles spot and earned a 6-4 victory. In singles play, Mishiro posted a 6-4, 6-3 triumph at the top singles position.
Against the Panthers, the Fujisawa, Japan native won 7-6 in doubles play and 6-3, 6-3 in singles action.
Burguete Beltran won both of her matches in Denver's 4-0 sweep over Utah, giving the Pioneers its fourth consecutive win over a Power 5 team and its first sweep against a Power 5 opponent since 2021. The Burriana, Spain native started with a 6-2 win at No. 1 doubles with partner Britt Pursell to help DU grab the doubles point.
She followed it up with a 6-3, 6-2 win at No. 1 singles over the country's No. 59-ranked singles player, Marcela Lopez.
