SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Denver’s Raffaello Papajcik and North Dakota’s Nore Heinitz and Andrea earned the latest TicketSmarter Summit League Men’s and Women’s Peak Performers of the Week honors, league officials announced on Tuesday.
Papajcik went 4-0 in doubles and singles combined this weekend in helping lead Denver to a 7-0 sweep of Butler in a neutral-site match and a 6-1 win at Wisconsin, moving No. 28-ranked Denver to 10-0 to start the season and setting a new program Division I record for best start to a season.
The London, England native started the weekend with a 6-3 doubles win with partner Peter Sallay on against Butler before winning his singles match in a third-set 10-point match tiebreak (6-4, 2-6, 1-0). He followed it up with a 6-4 win in doubles and a straight sets win (6-4, 6-2) in singles at Wisconsin.
Heinitz had a perfect 4-0 weekend to help UND notch a pair of wins over Marquette and Bellarmine. She opened doubles play with a 6-1 win over the Golden Eagles at the No. 2 spot and battled for a three-set win (1-6, 6-1, 6-1) at the No. 4 spot to help the Fighting Hawks polish off the 6-1 victory.
The Duluth, Minn., native sealed the doubles point with a 6-4 score against Bellarmine and extended the lead to 5-0 with a 6-0, 6-3 triumph in singles action in an eventual 7-0 win.
