UST's Mrosko, ORU's Rodriguez claim TicketSmarter #SummitBSB weekly awards

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – St. Thomas righthander Jacob Mrosko and Oral Roberts outfielder Elijah Rodriguez claimed the latest TicketSmarter Summit League Baseball Peak Performer and Pitcher of the Week awards, League officials announced Monday.

Mrosko earned his first career win after tossing a complete game in the Tommies’ 3-2, seven-inning victory over Southeast Missouri State. The right hander fanned a career-high 12, allowing only two earned runs on three hits as the Tommies would go on to take three of four from the Redhawks.

The Chanhassen, Minn., native had multiple strikeouts in four of his seven innings, including striking out the side in the fourth.

Rodriguez went 7-for-17 (.412) on the week that saw Oral Roberts go 3-1, including a three-game sweep of Southern Illinois-Edwardsville. The JUCO-transfer has hit safely in the Golden Eagles’ first seven games and had multiple hits in each of the three contests vs. the Cougars.

The Hewitt, Texas scored a run in all four games last week, drove in three total and stole four bases as ORU improved to 4-3 on the season.
