Illinois State’s Pham, UNO’s Adkins capture TicketSmarter #SummitTEN weekly accolades

SIOUX FALLS, S.D.Illinois State senior Nam Pham and Omaha sophomore Zoe Adkins received the latest TicketSmarter Summit League Men’s and Women’s Peak Performers of the Week awards, league officials announced on Tuesday.
 
Pham went 2-0 at the No. 1 singles spot and picked up a doubles victory for the Redbirds. Against Drake, Pham Jeremy Schifris 7-6, 6-2 to help the Redbirds pick up a 4-3 win over the Bulldogs and improve to 2-0 in league play. He followed that up with a victory against No. 65 Nebraska, as he bested Anton Shepp in three sets 6-3, 3-6, 7-5 to secure one of two points on the day for Illinois State.
 
In addition to his two wins at the top of the singles lineup, Pham also made an appearance in the doubles lineup as he combined with Arvid Hjalte at No. 2 spot against Drake’s Markus Bolin and Matija Matic to pick up a 6-3 victory and help secure the doubles point that factored into a big win for the Redbirds.
 
Adkins went a perfect 4-0 on the weekend to help Omaha collect a pair of 5-2 wins over Oral Roberts and Minnesota State. The Maple Grove, Minn., native won at the No. 1 singles spot against the Golden Eagles with a 6-3, 3-6, 6-3 victory and a 6-2 win at the top doubles position.
 
The sophomore received a 6-3 doubles win and a 6-2, 6-4 singles victory against Minnesota State.
