SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Northern Colorado designated hitter Garrett Fisher and North Dakota State reliever Joey Danielson garnered the latest TicketSmarter Summit League Baseball Peak Performer and Pitcher of the Week awards, League officials announced Monday. Both players were honored for the first time in their respective careers.
Fisher batted .500 and drove in five runs in a series sweep of South Dakota State as Northern Colorado moved into fourth place in the Summit League standings after taking three straight from the Jackrabbits.
The Fort Collins, Colo., native recorded a career-high four hits in the series opener and also added three RBI in the 13-4 victory. In game two, he walked twice and had a RBI-single. He closed out the series with two more hits, including a RBI-single in the sixth that stretched UNC's lead to 8-6 in an eventual 14-6 win.
Danielson recorded a save in each of NDSU's three victories last week to push his season total to 10 in a category he is tied for fifth nationally.
In NDSU's 21-14 win over Iowa, he entered the contest in the eighth inning with the bases loaded and Bison holding onto a four-run advantage. He calmly struck out the first batter he faced to end the Hawkeyes' threat.
The Eden Prairie, Minn., native then closed out the final two games of NDSU's series with League-leading St. Thomas as the Bison moved back over the .500 mark in Summit action at 11-9-1.

• This is the first career weekly honor for Danielson
