SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The 2024 #SummitBSB All-Academic Team was made up of 10 first-time honorees as the squad was released Wednesday by league officials. All six programs were represented on the team with North Dakota State, Northern Colorado, Omaha and St. Thomas each leading the way with a pair of honorees.
The two Bison named to the 2024 edition were seniors Carson Hake and Garret Hill. Garrett Fisher and Jake Storey are the first two Bears to land on the all-academic team since UNC joined the League prior to the 2021-22 season as an affiliate member.
Omaha’s duo includes junior Luke Gainer and senior Drew Lechnir, while St. Thomas was represented by sophomore Joe Roder and junior Bryce Leedle.
Rounding out the squad are Oral Roberts senior Josh Caravalho and South Dakota State junior Reece Arbogast.
Hake, Lechnir and Storey each hold perfect 4.00 grade point averages in their respective fields of study.
To be eligible for the Academic All-League team, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.30 (on a 4.0 scale), completed at least one full academic year at the current institution and participated in 50 percent of their team's competitions, except pitchers who must have participated in 20 percent of their team's total contests.
Nominations are brought forth by sports information directors from the league's participating members, and voting is conducted by both SIDs and FARs. The teams are made up of ten student-athletes receiving the most votes with all ties standing.
