SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Summit League officials revealed the 2024-25 championship schedules Thursday. Fifteen of those championships will take place on a variety of the League's campuses, while the men's and women's basketball tournaments will return to the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center in Sioux Falls and the men's and women's golf championships will be played in Mesa, Ariz.
The championship slate will begin in Vermillion, S.D., as the University of South Dakota is slated to host the cross country races on Nov. 2. Omaha will bring the league's championship schedule to a close on May 21-24 by hosting the baseball championship on Tal Anderson Field at Maverick Park.
The remainder of the fall championship schedule includes women's soccer, which will consist of six teams and be played over the course of two weekends for the fourth time in League history. The No. 3 and No. 4 seeds will be hosting the quarterfinal matchups on Saturday, Nov. 2 or Sunday, Nov.3. The following week those match winners will face the top two seeds in semifinals on Thursday, Nov. 7. The 2024 championship match is slated for Sunday, Nov. 10.
The men’s soccer championship will feature the top two teams in the standings in a single match played on Nov. 16 and hosted by the No.1 seed, while the volleyball championship is being hosted by the University of Missouri-Kansas City for the first time from Nov. 24-26 at the Swinney Recreation Center in Kansas City, Mo.
The swimming and diving championships head to Iowa City and will be the first championship of 2025 as those will be held Feb. 19-22 on the campus of the University of Iowa. Both track and field championships are taking place in South Dakota this year, starting off with the indoor event Feb. 28-March 1 in Brookings, S.D. at the Sanford-Jackrabbit Athletic Complex. The outdoor track and field championships will be hosted in Vermillion, S.D., at the Lillibridge Track Complex May 15-17.
The men's and women's basketball championships return to their familiar home at the PREMIER Center for the tenth time. The 2025 Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championships will feature all nine members and will cover five days on the calendar, starting March 5 and culminating with the respective title games on Sunday, March 9.
The men's and women's tennis championships will be heading back to Denver where the Pioneers will host competition April 18-19 at the Stapleton Tennis Pavilion. The men's and women's golf championships are heading to Arizona where those will be played at the Longbow Golf Course. The women’s event is slated for April 20-22, while the men will follow on April 27-29.
South Dakota State will host the softball championship for the fourth straight season at Jackrabbit Softball Stadium May 7-10.
