DU, UND, USD claim Kwik Star #SummitTEN peak performer honors

Denver, North Dakota, South Dakota grab latest weekly awards

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Denver, North Dakota and South Dakota were each represented in this week’s Kwik Star Summit League Men’s and Women’s Tennis Peak Performer of the Week accolades, League officials announced Tuesday.
 
North Dakota’s Leo Galliano and South Dakota’s Bea Havlickova earned the singles peak performer weekly honors. The Denver duos of Daniel Sancho Arbizu and Theor Coats along with the pair of Andrea Burguete Beltran and Marley Lambert took home the weekly accolade for their doubles performances.
 
MEN’S TENNIS SINGLE PEAK PERFORMER OF THE WEEK
Leo Galliano, North Dakota (Fr)
  • Garnered his first career peak performer award
  • Went 2-0 from the No. 3 spot in singles against Montana (L, 4-3) and Montana State (W, 4-3)
  • Evened the match at 2-2 against Montana with a 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 victory
  • Rolled to a 6-1, 6-4 win against Montana State to even the match at 1-1 in an eventual 4-3 win
  • Improved to 3-1 this season in singles

MEN’S TENNIS DOUBLES PEAK TEAM OF THE WEEK
Daniel Sancho Arbizu (Sr) & Theo Coats (Fr), Denver
  • Sancho Arbizu earned the sixth career peak performer award of his career, second of the season
  • Coats garnered the first peak performer honor of his career
  • Had Denver’s lone win in doubles (6-4) against Louisville at the ITA Kickoff Weekend hosted by Ohio
  • Moved the team to 4-1 in doubles together to start 2025
  • Kept DU alive for the doubles point after Louisville won the first match of the day
 WOMEN’S TENNIS SINGLES PEAK PERFORMER OF THE WEEK
Bea Havlickova, South Dakota (Sr)
  • Received the second peak performer accolade of her career
  • Picked up a pair of straight-set wins over Missouri State (W, 5-2) and Sioux Falls (W, 7-0) at No. 1 singles
  • Won the first set against Missouri State in a tie-break (7-6 [7-5]) before closing out the match with a 6-2 win in the second set
  • Defeated her Sioux Falls opponent 7-5, 6-0
  • Moved to 3-0 during the spring dual season
  • Became the fourth Coyote to reach 60 career singles wins in the Division I era

WOMEN’S TENNIS DOUBLES PEAK TEAM OF THE WEEK
Andrea Burguete Beltran (Sr) & Marley Lambert (Jr), Denver
  • Buregete Beltran captured the fifth career peak performer accolade of her career
  • Lambert collected her first career peak performer of the week honor
  • Won both their matches at the ITA Kickoff Weekend hosted by Texas A&M
  • Secured a 6-4 victory over No. 12-ranked team Otway/Pascual from TCU
  • Followed up with a 6-4 win over South Florida to help DU to a 4-0 sweep of USF
