DU, UNO collect this week’s Kwik Star #SummitTEN peak performers

Pioneers, Omaha tabbed this week’s peak performer

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Denver Pioneers and the Omaha Mavericks were honored in this week’s Kwik Star Summit League Men’s and Women’s Tennis Peak Performer of the Week honors, league officials released Tuesday.
 
Denver’s Daniel Sancho Arbizu claimed the singles honor for the men while he and teammate Theo Coats were tabbed the doubles team of the week.
 
For the women, Omaha’s Zoe Adkins received the singles accolade while the Pio duo of Claudia Martinez de Velasco and Louise Wikander were honorees on the doubles side.
 
MEN’S TENNIS SINGLE PEAK PERFORMER OF THE WEEK
Daniel Sancho Arbizu, Denver (Sr)
  • Garnered his seventh career peak performer award, third this season
  • Helped DU to a pair of 5-2 wins over No. 65 Utah State and Jacksonville State
  • Lost just five games in his 6-3, 6-2 win over Utah State’s No. 1
  • Added a 6-2, 6-4 win to his weekend over Jacksonville State’s No. 1
  • Won his team-best ninth and 10th matches in 2025 – all at No. 1 singles

MEN’S TENNIS DOUBLES PEAK TEAM OF THE WEEK
Daniel Sancho Arbizu (Sr) & Theo Coats (Fr), Denver
  • Coats garnered the second peak performer honor of his career
  • Recorded a 2-0 weekend against No. 65 Utah State and Jacksonville
  • Started the weekend with a 6-4 win over Utah State on the No. 2 doubles court
  • Added a 6-3 win in the No. 2 spot of the lineup against Jacksonville State
  • Moved to 9-1 as a doubles team this year and are riding an eight-match unbeaten streak

  • Received the second peak performer accolade of her career, first of the season
  • Played a pivotal role in the program's first-ever victory over Big East foe Creighton (5-2)
  • At the No. 1 singles court, captured a win over Bianca Rademacher, 7-6 (7-5), 6-4

WOMEN’S TENNIS DOUBLES PEAK TEAM OF THE WEEK
Claudia Martinez de Velasco (Jr) & Louise Wikander (Jr), Denver
  • Martinez de Velasco captured the third peak performer accolade of her career, first of the season
  • Wikander collected her third career peak performer of the week honor, first of the season
  • In the 7-0 team sweep of Montana State, secured a 6-2 win on the No. 2 doubles court
  • Won their fourth match in a row and eighth on the season
