SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Denver, Omaha and Oral Roberts were each honored in the latest Kwik Star Summit League Men’s and Women’s Tennis Peak Performer of the Week honors, league officials announced Tuesday.
In singles play, Denver’s Raffaello Papajcik and Oral Roberts’ Arina Sorokina were honored for their respective performances.
For doubles, Omaha’s pair of Mikhail Korkunov and Bryan Kuntz claimed the men’s award while ORU’s Chara Grammatikaki and Luna Morini secured the women’s.
MEN’S TENNIS SINGLE PEAK PERFORMER OF THE WEEK
Raffaello Papajcik, Denver (Jr)
- Garnered his third career peak performer award, second of the season.
- Won both of his matches at No. 2 singles in Denver’s first two Summit League duals of the year.
- Helped Denver to earn two 6-1 wins over Illinois State and Oral Roberts.
- Captured a 6-2, 6-4 win over Illinois State’s Adrian Dibildox.
- Downed Oral Roberts’ Parv Nage, 6-0, 6-4.

MEN’S TENNIS DOUBLES PEAK TEAM OF THE WEEK
Mikhail Korkunov (Sr) & Bryan Kuntz (Sr), Omaha
- Korkunov collected the second weekly accolade of his career, first of the season.
- Kuntz captured his second career peak performer honor, second of the season.
- Went 2-0 against North Dakota (L, 5-2) and Marquette (W, 7-0) at the No. 1 doubles court.
- Picked up a comeback victory in tiebreakers, 7-6 (7-4), against North Dakota’s Ange-Kevin Koua and Leandro Zgraggen.
- Came from behind and defeated Marquette’s Blake Roegner and Hugh Perill, 6-4.
WOMEN’S TENNIS SINGLES PEAK PERFORMER OF THE WEEK
Arina Sorokina, Oral Roberts (Sr)
- Received the first peak performer accolade of her career.
- Helped ORU capture its first two wins of league play with 4-3 victories over South Dakota and Kansas City.
- Went 2-0 in singles action on the No. 1 court against ORU and KC.
- Defeated South Dakota’s Bea Havlickova with a 6-0, 7-5 win.
- Came back from behind and beat Kansas City’s Joana Miralles Cardona, 4-6, 6-2, 6-4.

WOMEN’S TENNIS DOUBLES PEAK TEAM OF THE WEEK

- Morini collected the second peak performer award of her career, first of the season.
- Had a 2-0 week on the top court of doubles play helping ORU to a pair of league wins.
- Defeated USD’s Amanda de Oliveira and Sorcha Caves 6-4 to clinch the doubles point for ORU.
- Captured the doubles point against Kansas City with a 6-1 victory over Amal Gati and Miralles Cardona.
