SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – South Dakota State third baseman Nolan Grawe and St. Thomas righthander Marcus Kruzan garnered the latest Kwik Star Summit League Baseball weekly honors, League officials announced Monday. Grawe hit .480 during a six-game week for the Jackrabbits, going 12-for-25 at the plate to lead his squad to a quartet of wins, including three over North Dakota State.
The Jackrabbit freshman opened the week with five straight multi-hit games. He added an insurance run in the 6-3 victory with with an infield single in the eighth.
The Cedar Rapids, Iowa native had two hits in each game of Saturday’s doubleheader that the Jacks would split. With the Jackrabbits trailing 5-2 in the seventh inning of game two, Grawe’s two-run double sparked a six-run rally over the final three frames in a game SDSU would win 8-6.
Kruzan logged the first complete game of his career, limiting Oral Roberts to one earned on six hits as the Tommies opened a four-game set in Tulsa with an 11-1 victory.
