SIOUX FALLS, S.D. –North Dakota, North Dakota State, and South Dakota were each represented among the season’s fourth Summit League Indoor Track and Field Kwik Star Peak Performer of the Week accolades, League officials released Tuesday. UND’s Louis-Lys Fanucchi and NDSU’s Aaron Cummings took home the honors on the men’s side while North Dakota State’s Reese Rogowski and South Dakota’s Anna Willis secured them on the women’s side.
Fanucchi secured first place in the 3,000-meter, posting a winning time of 7:58.80 at the Jim Emmerich Alumni Meet. The France native set a new North Dakota school record and became the program’s first to post a sub-8:00 time in the event. The Fighting Hawk sophomore currently sits atop the Summit League rankings as well as ranking 46th nationally this indoor season.
Cummings placed third in the pole vault competition at the Mark Colligan Memorial with a personal-best vault of 17-0.75” (5.20m). His mark is tied for 37th nationally and tied for fifth in North Dakota State indoor history. The Bison sophomore is tied for third in the Summit League rankings.
Rogowski won the 400-meter after sprinting to a personal best 54.54 at the Mark Colligan Memorial. The Wittenburg, Wis., native ranks 56
th in the NCAA and sits sixth overall in NDSU indoor history. The Bison junior also ran a leg of the 4x400 meter relay that clocked a 3:41.25 to rank fourth fastest in program history.
Willis finished tied for the top collegiate spot in the pole vault at the Jim Emmerich Alumni Meet with a clearance of 14-1.25” (4.30m). Her mark ranks 10
th in the NCAA this season and is tied for first in the Summit League.
