SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Omaha righthander Maddox Meyer and South Dakota State outfielder Carter Taylor garnered the latest Kwik Star Summit League Baseball weekly honors of the 2026 season, League officials announced Tuesday. Both players received the first weekly award of their respective careers.
Meyer was dominant in a six-inning scoreless outing, earning his first win of the season Arizona. The Malcolm, Neb., native fanned a career-high 10 and allowed only two hits in the 3-1 victory for Omaha.
The Maverick sophomore struck out multiple batters in the first, fourth, fifth and sixth innings in what was the longest outing of his career.
Taylor moved into the Jackrabbits’ starting lineup for a five-game set in Texas and the freshman delivered 13 hits during a 3-2 week for his squad. The Missoula, Mont., native hit safely in all five games and went 4-for-6 with a home run in his first career start.
He finished the week with a .522 batting average and four multi-hit games, while also adding five RBI.
