KC’s Lanham, SDSU’s Fredrick and Coyote duo earn #SummitITF Kwik Star peak performer accolades

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Familiar names along with a new one were selected for the season’s final Summit League Indoor Track and Field Kwik Star Peak Performer of the Week accolades, League officials released Tuesday.

Kansas City’s Tory Lanham racked up his third straight men’s track honor, while South Dakota State’s Caiden Fredrick took home the field honors for a second straight week.

South Dakota swept the women’s awards with Marleen Mülla earning her third field honor of the season and seventh of her career, while sophomore hurdler Sophie Amin garnered her first career weekly honor.

Lanham, who won captured his seventh career weekly nod, established a new personal best in the 200-meter dash for the second straight week. The Kansas City, Mo., native placed second at the Arkansas Qualifier with a time of 20.82 to improve his league-leading and school-record time.

Fredrick won the weight throw competition at the SDSU Last Chance meet, exceeding his winning toss from a week ago by more than a foot. The Papillion, Neb., native’s winning toss this time was 68’8” (20.93m) and he also placed second in the shot with a season-best toss of 54’4” (16.56m). 

Mülla broke the South Dakota school record in the pole vault for the second straight week, winning the Nebraska Tune-up with a clearance of 15’2.25” (4.63m). The Rakvere, Estonia native’s mark now puts her second on the NCAA indoor performance charts this season heading into the Summit League Indoor Championship.

Amin clocked a personal-best 8.36 in the 60-meter hurdles to win the event at the Nebraska Tune-up.  Her time tops the Summit League charts and sits second on the all-time South Dakota program top 10.
