UND’s Fanucchi and Keeler, NDSU’s McGlynn, and USD’s Mülla earn #SummitITF Kwik Star peak performer accolades

North Dakota, North Dakota State, and South Dakota were each represented in the latest weekly honors

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. –North Dakota, North Dakota State, and South Dakota were each represented among the season’s fifth Summit League Indoor Track and Field Kwik Star Peak Performer of the Week accolades, League officials released Tuesday. UND’s Louis-Lys Fanucchi and NDSU’s Zach McGlynn took home the honors on the men’s side while North Dakota’s Jadyn Keeler and South Dakota’s Marleen Mülla secured them on the women’s side.

Fanucchi secured first place in the mile , posting a winning time of 4:00.02 at the UND Open. The Mons En Barouel, France native set a new North Dakota school record by over six seconds while also breaking the facility record. The Fighting Hawk sophomore currently sits atop the Summit League mile rankings as well as ranking 86th nationally this indoor season.  

McGlynn shattered the North Dakota State school record in the heptathlon, scoring 5,975 points to win the Dr. Rick McGuire Invitational. The Bison senior broke former Bison All-American Andy Lillejord’s 2013 NCAA Championships record by 182 points. 

McGlynn’s standout heptathlon performance included clearing 17-4.50 (5.30m) in the pole vault, sprinting 8.18 in the 60m hurdles, jumping 23-6.25 (7.17m) in the long jump, throwing 44-0 (13.41m) in the shot put, sprinting 7.26 in the 60m, clearing 6-10.25 (2.09m) in the high jump, and finishing the 1,000-meter run in 2:45.88.  The Stephen, Minn., native native ranks first in the Summit League and sixth in the NCAA for the heptathlon this indoor season. 

Keeler won the mile after running a personal best 4:39.06 at the UND Open, breaking both the North Dakota and facility record in the event. The Barrie, Ontario native ranks 60th in the NCAA and sits first in the Summit League by 10 seconds.  The Fighting Hawk senior also ran a 2:12.79 in the 800m to place fifth. 

Mülla won the pole vault competition, setting a meet and facility record at the Dr. Rich McGuire Invite with a clearance of 14-11” (4.55m). Her mark ranks second in the NCAA this season and first in the Summit League. The Rakvere, Estonia native tied the South Dakota indoor school record.
