OMA’s Beck, UST’s Roder collect Kwik Star #SummitBSB weekly honors

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Omaha righthander Sam Beck and St. Thomas first baseman Joe Roder claimed the latest Kwik Star Summit League Baseball weekly honors of the 2026 season, League officials announced Tuesday. Beck’s weekly award is the first of his career, while Roder secured his first of the season and second of his career.

Beck helped the Mavericks secure a series win on the road at St. Thomas, limiting the Tommies to an earned run on three hits over five innings of work. He picked up his second win of the season as he struck out five St. Thomas hitters in matching his career-long outing.

Roder was a monster at the plate over four games for the Tommies, going 10-for-15 (.667) with three home runs and 11 RBI. The New Prague, Minn., native had multiple hits in all four games and three or more RBI in three.

His three-run shot in the fifth inning at Minnesota briefly gave the Tommies a 5-4 lead. In the Tommies’ 15-3 win over Omaha in game two of that series, he went 3-for-4 and had a bases-clearing triple during a six-run third inning.

Roder raised his batting average 77 points over the course of the week and his 11 RBI exceeded his total of nine from the Tommies’ first 22 games.
