SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Denver’s Theo Coats and Connor Robb-Wilcox, North Dakota’s Jule Schulte, and Omaha’s Nina Wiese and Katelynn Kock claimed the latest Summit League Tennis Peak Performer of the Week honors following action last weekend.
Robb-Wilcox went a perfect 2–0 in singles during Denver’s road weekend. He opened with a 6-2, 6-4 victory at New Mexico to give DU a 3-1 lead in an eventual 4-1 win. He followed by clinching the match at Northern Arizona, rallying for a 7-6, 3-6, 6-2 victory with the dual tied 3-3 to secure Denver’s second win of the weekend.
Coats and Robb-Wilcox went 2-0 at the No. 1 doubles spot during Denver’s road matches at New Mexico and Northern Arizona. The duo opened with a 7-6 (3) win at New Mexico to clinch the doubles point before adding a 6-3 victory at Northern Arizona that evened the doubles scoreboard and helped set up Denver to secure the point. The pair improved to 3-0 together at the No. 1 position this season.
Schulte went 2-0 in singles from the No. 2 position for North Dakota, opening with a 6-0, 6-2 win over the Oral Roberts Golden Eagles to help secure a 6-1 team victory while breaking UND’s program record for career wins. Schulte followed with a 6-3, 6-3 victory against the Northeastern State as the Fighting Hawks completed a 7-0 sweep.
Wiese and Kock went 2-0 at the No. 1 doubles flight for Omaha over the weekend. The sophomore duo opened with a 6-0 win over Chicago State’s Mackenzie King and Karolina Skowronska before defeating Drake’s Kristina Tai and Shiori Takeda 6-2 to clinch the doubles point for the Mavericks. The pair improved to 11-2 on the season.
