SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – South Dakota swept the weekly field awards, while Kansas City sprinter Tory Lanham and South Dakota State sprinter Ellie Harris earned the track honors as League officiales released the latest Summit League Outdoor Track and Field Kwik Star Peak Performer of the Week accolades Tuesday.
For the Coyotes, senior Marleen Mülla earned her sixth career weekly outdoor honor to go with nine indoor weekly career accolades. The Rakvere, Estonia native cleared 13-10” (4.22m) to win the pole vault title at the Sioux City Relays. Her clearance is tops among Summit League vaulters this season.
Redshirt junior Brandon Vander Sluis registered outdoor career bests in the shot put and discus throw in Sioux City. He won the shot put title with a Summit League-leading toss of 60-06.75” (18.46m) and placed third in the discus with a throw of 170-10” (52.08m).
For the Roos, Lanham earned his second straight and third career outdoor weekly honor to bring his career total of weekly honors including indoor to 10. He clocked a season-best time of 20.47 to take third in the 200-meter dash at the Arkansas Spring Invitational. The Kansas City, Mo., native’s time is the fastest among Summit League sprinters this season and fifth in the NCAA West Region.
For the Jackrabbits, Ellie Harris collected her first career weekly honor after breaking the SDSU school record in the 200-meter dash, clocking a 23.81 to place second at the Jim Duncan Invitational.
