DU sweeps Kwik Star #SummitTEN weekly accolades

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Denver’s Connor Robb-Wilcox, Theo Coats, Louise Wikander, and Claudia de Velasco have been deemed the latest Summit League Tennis Peak Performers of the Week, league officials announced Tuesday.
 
Robb-Wilcox delivered a dominant 2-0 weekend in singles for Denver, dropping just seven games across two matches. He opened with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Illinois State to give DU a 3-0 lead in an eventual 6-1 victory. He followed by moving up the lineup and clinching the match with a 6-2, 6-2 win against Oral Roberts as Denver completed a 7-0 sweep.
 
The duo Coats and Robb-Wilcox went 2-0 at the No. 1 doubles position in Denver’s opening Summit League duals. The pair earned matching 6-2 wins over Illinois State and Oral Roberts, recording DU’s first doubles result in both matches on the way to securing the point. The duo improved to 11-2 in dual play this season.
 
Wikander turned in a strong weekend from the No. 1 singles position for Denver. She dropped just three games in a 6-1, 6-2 win at Kansas City to give DU a 3-0 lead in an eventual 7-0 sweep, marking her 20th victory of the season. She also forced a third set at Tulsa before her match went unfinished.
 
Martinez de Velasco and Wikander went 2-0 in doubles over the weekend for Denver, dropping just three games combined. The duo opened with a 6-1 win from the No. 2 spot at Tulsa on Friday before adding a 6-2 victory at Kansas City on Saturday. Their win at Kansas City was the first doubles result in the match, helping DU secure the doubles point on the way to a 7-0 sweep.
