KC, NDSU, and South Dakota claim final #SummitOTF Kwik Star peak performer accolades

USD earned honors on the men’s and women’s side, while KC’s Lanham and NDSU’s Arndt were also honored

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The South Dakota duo of Brandon Vander Sluis and Marleen Mülla along with Kansas City’s Tory Lanham and North Dakota State’s Sydney Arndt claimed the final Summit League Outdoor Track and Field Kwik Star Peak Performer of the Week accolades, League officials released Tuesday.

Vander Sluis earned the second weekly field honor of his career, tossing a personal best 61-02.75” (18.66m) to win the shot put at the USD Twilight. His mark moved him into 32nd in the NCAA and extended his Summit League lead in the event.

Lanham recorded a second place finish in the 200-meter at the Arkansas Twilight with a time of 20.50. The Kansas City, Mo., native leads the Summit and is tied for 15th in the NCAA West Division as he racked up his fourth career weekly outdoor honor.
 
Arndt won the outdoor weekly track honor for the first time in her career after winning the 100-meter hurdles with a league lading time of 13.47 at the NDSU Tune-Up. The Bison junior also ran a leg of the 4x100 meter relay that ran a 44.91. The Fond du Lac, Wis., native is tied for 41st in the NCAA West Regional. 

Mülla captured the 16th weekly track honor of her career and eighth outdoor after winning the pole vault at the USD Twilight. She cleared 15-0.25” (4.58m) and now sits second on the Summit League charts. The Coyote senior ranks fourth in the NCAA and third in the West Region. Mülla’s eight outdoor honors is ranked second in League history behind Oral Roberts’ Rachel Talbert.
 
With Mülla’s latest honor, it marks the first time in league history that one program captured all the weekly field honors during the outdoor season. Mülla along with teammates Delaney Smith and Anna Willis combined for all seven weekly field honors this season.
