SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Fifty-six Summit League track and field student-athletes are set to compete at the NCAA West Preliminary in Fayetteville, Arkansas, May 27-30.

Those participants are among the top 48 declared entries in each individual event and the top 24 relay teams in each region. The top 12 finishers in each event at the preliminary rounds will advance to the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Eugene, Oregon, June 10-13.

North Dakota State led the league with 16 individuals set to compete in Fayetteville. South Dakota qualified 12, while North Dakota qualified nine. Kansas City has seven athletes represented, while South Dakota State qualified five, St. Thomas qualified four and Oral Roberts qualified three.

NDSU’s Paul Olson and Zac McGlynn also qualified in the decathlon for the NCAA Championships in Eugene. That event does not have a preliminary round.
