SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Oral Roberts’ Sarah Bell and Denver’s Jackson Solem were named the TicketSmarter #SummitGF Golfers of the Month for September, league officials announced Thursday. Both players posted the top stroke averages in their respective sports across three tournaments during the month to claim the honors.
 
Bell turned in a trio of top-five finishes in September, tying for fourth at the Payne Stewart Memorial and tying for fifth at the Coeur d’Alene Collegiate before finishing runner-up at the Johnie Imes Invitational to wrap up the month.

Bell broke a couple of school records en route to her second-place finish. Her closing round 65 (-7) established a new ORU single-round record and her 205 (-11) total was the best 54-hole scoring mark in program history. For the month, she turned in five rounds of par or better and broke 70 twice en route to league-best 70.8 stroke average.
 
Solem was consistent throughout the opening month of his season, posting a trio of top-25 finishes. He turned in eight rounds of par or better of the nine he played while posting a league-best 70.2 stroke average, nearly two strokes clear of the next competitor.
 
His best finish came at the Falcon Invite where he tied for fifth after a firing a 54-hole total of 208 (-8), which was the best 54-hole score among league golfers in September. He closed that event with a 66 (-6) giving him a pair of rounds in the 60’s during the month.

• Shot par or better in eight of nine rounds in September, including SL-best 66 at Falcon Invite
• This is the first monthly honor for Solem, who has one career weekly honor to his credit as well
