SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – For the fifth time this spring, South Dakota State’s Teresa Toscano earned the women’s #SummitGF weekly honor, while North Dakota State’s Nate Deziel earned the men’s honor for the first time in his career, league officials announced Wednesday.

Toscano’s fifth honor equals her single-season total from the 2018-19 season when she collected the third most during a single season in league history. She now has 14 for her career, putting her in solo second and two behind Oral Roberts’ Christy Carter, who had 16 from 2006-09.

The Huelva, Spain native earned this latest honor after recording her fifth top-10 finish of the spring at the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic. She finished with a score of 217 (+1) after opening with an even-par round of 72 and firing a 67 (-5) in the second round, which was her fifth round in the 60’s this season.

Deziel helped the Bison claim the team title at the Golfweek Spring Invitational after posting the best 54-hole score of his career. The sophomore broke par in each of his rounds en route to a 210 (-6), which was the 11^th-best three-round score in program history.

The East Grand Forks, Minn., native shared the birdie lead in the field with team Jack Johnson as both Bison players made 15 during their three loops around the True Blue Golf Club. He made six of those in his closing 69 (-3) that was his second round in the 60’s this season.
