SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Oral Roberts and SDSU each had golfers claim a share of the latest TicketSmarter #SummitGF Golfer of the Week accolades, league officials announced Thursday.

On the men’s side, SDSU freshman Ty Kretz shared the honor with ORU graduate student Lane Wallace, who captured his second consecutive weekly honor. On the women’s side, ORU graduate student Kiana Oshiro earned her first career weekly honor.
 
Kretz overcame a five-stroke deficit entering the final round to win his first collegiate tournament, sharing the top spot with Northern Iowa’s Griffin Parker and Eastern Kentucky’s Willis Gaer. That trio each finished with 212 totals (-4).

For Kretz, his 54-hole score was a new season low and his closing 68 (-4) matched his low single round of the season. He made five birdies and just one bogey on his final loop around the Boulder Creek Golf Club.

Wallace tied Carson Newman’s Elliot MacGregor for the top score at the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate, firing a total of 136 (-9) in an event that was shortened to 36 holes due to inclement weather. He officially finished runner-up based on a scorecard playoff after opening with a 66 (-6) and closing with a 69 (-3).

Wallace made nine birdies and an eagle during his two loops around the Sevierville Golf Club as the Golden Eagles finished second in the team standings with a 559 (-17) total.

Oshiro took runner-up at the Pizza Hut Lady Thunderbird Invitational, finishing just a stroke off the pace set by Southern Utah’s Pluem Yongyuan. Oshiro’s best round came in her second loop around the Sunbrook Golf Course when she shot a 71 (-1).

Oshiro finished the tournament with eight birdies and a 54-hole total of 218 (+2) as the Golden Eagles placed third in the 16-team field.

• Closed the tournament equaling his career-low with a 68 (-4)
• This is the first career weekly honor for Kretz

Lane Wallace
Gr. | Yukon, Okla.

• Fired a 36-hole total of 135 (-9) to tie for the best score in the 93-player field
• Finished tournament with nine birdies and shot a season-low 66 (-6) in the first round
• This is the second straight weekly honor for Wallace
