SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Summit League officials announce the 2024 Most Outstanding Performers of the Championship and the 107 All-Summit League team honorees Tuesday. North Dakota State’s Nell Graham earned the Most Outstanding Performer of the Championship for the women while South Dakota’s Marshall Faurot claimed the award on the men’s side. The duo won the honor at the 2023 Summit League Outdoor Track and Field Championships as well.
Graham opened the championships with a third-place finish in the pentathlon, scoring a personal-best 3,822 points to rank fourth in NDSU history. She captured a spot on the podium with a lifetime-best performance of 2:14.73 in the 800m to complete the pentathlon.
On the final day of competition, Graham nabbed a sixth-place finish in the 200m (24.79) and a gold medal in the 400m with a facility record of 53.82. She closed the championship with a silver medal in the 4x400m relay after helping the squad cross the finish line in 3:42.81, breaking the previous meet record (3:42.90).
Faurot collected his second consecutive indoor League men’s pole vault crown after clearing a personal-best height of 18-01.25 (5.52m). Faurot’s victory marks the eighth straight time USD has taken home the title.
The Most Outstanding Performer of the Championship is determined by a vote of the participating head coaches and is based upon the student-athletes’ performance during the Summit League Indoor Track and Field Championships.
To receive the All-Summit League accolade a student-athlete must finish in the top three in an event category at the league championship meet.
