Golden Eagles sweep latest #SummitGF Peak Golfer of the Week honors

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Oral Roberts sophomore Avery Blake and senior Jackson Drake swept the latest TicketSmarter #SummitGF Male and Female Peak Golfer of the Week accolades, League officials announced Monday. Blake earned her second female weekly honor of the spring while Drake garnered his first career weekly male honor.

Blake earned medalist honors at the rain-shortened Bama Bash, shooting a 36-hole total of 212 (-2) to hold off teammate Katie Strickland and Jacksonville’s Casey Powell by one stroke.

The TCU transfer opened with an even-par 72 before closing out the event with a 70 (-2), which was the low round of the tournament. It’s the second top-10 finish of the season for Blake, who helped the Golden Eagles to a second-place finish in the 15-team field.

Drake led the Golden Eagles to the team title and finished runner-up in the individual standings after falling the second hold of a sudden-death playoff to Missouri State’s Max Kreikemeier. He shot a career-best 206 (-7) on the par-71 layout at the Twin Oaks Country Club.
