SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – As we approach the end of 2025, happy New Year and happy first day of Summit League play for those who celebrate. Our women’s basketball teams begin the journey for a regular season title on Wednesday, Dec. 31.
League play tips off tomorrow at 5 p.m. CT with Kansas City hosting Omaha.
North Dakota State and South Dakota State enter conference play as the league’s top two teams, with the Bison opening 2026 against Oral Roberts and the Jackrabbits facing St. Thomas on New Year’s Day.
Denver opens league play at home on New Year’s Day against North Dakota with a 3 p.m. CT tip-off, while South Dakota is the final team to wrap up non-conference play, facing College of Saint Mary (Neb.) today at 2 p.m. CT.

AROUND THE LEAGUE
• After opening the season 2-2, North Dakota State extended its win streak to a league-best nine with victories over UTRGV (82-60) and St. Mary’s (Minn.) (94-36) to wrap up the non-conference.
• The nine game win streak is NDSU’s longest since the 2004-05 season, where they won 24 straight.
• The Bison ripped off an 18-0 run (their longest of the season) to pull away for a win over St. Mary’s, led by Avery Koenen’s game-high 19 points and seven rebounds, snapping her six-game double-double streak.
• The Jackrabbits endured a challenging holiday stretch, opening with a 97-54 loss at Duke on Dec. 18 before dropping a 70-51 decision to second-ranked Texas in Brookings on Dec. 21.
• South Dakota State’s defense held Texas to 70 points, marking the Longhorns’ second-lowest scoring total of the season, with their lowest coming in a 66-point performance against South Carolina.
• Preseason Player of the Year Brooklyn Meyer shined over the break, pouring in 27 points on 11-of-15 shooting against the Blue Devils before adding 20 points versus the Longhorns.
• South Dakota shook off a 73-65 loss to Pepperdine in the Malibu Classic opener and closed the holiday break with a 71-44 rout of UTRGV.
• After a quiet couple of outings, senior standout Angelina Robles erupted for 24 points on 9-of-15 shooting as the Yotes outscored the Vaqueros in all four quarters.
• Senior Elise Turrubiates turned in a season-best 19 points and career-high four three’s in the loss to Pepperdine.
• An 11-0 run to end the first half carried over into the second as USD pushed the surge to 17-0 against UTRGV.
• Riding momentum from a 74-73 win at North Texas, Oral Roberts secured its second consecutive victory by routing Oklahoma Wesleyan 86-51 to close the non-conference season.
• Jalei Oglesby paced four Golden Eagles in double figures with 25 points and 15 rebounds, notching her second double-double of the season.
• Denver wrapped up non-conference play with a 76-71 home win over California Baptist.
• Sophomore guard Coryn Watts dominated with a career-high 32 points, tying the program’s ninth-most points in a single game.
• Watts connected on 5-of-10 shots from beyond the arc while junior Laia Monclova added 17 points and eight boards in the win.
• St. Thomas limited Northern Illinois to 26 points through the first three quarters of play to secure a 64-46 win over the Huskies.
• UST has now held an opponent under 50 points for the fourth time this season, also holding NIU to 24.2 percent shooting over the first three quarters.
• KC’s Elauni Bennett posted a career-high 27 points and 15 rebounds in a 109-59 rout of Haskell Indian Nations, snapping the Roos’ five-game skid.
• Twin sister Emani Bennett totaled 25 points in the contest, marking her third time in the last four contests to score 25 or more points.
• The Roos capped non-conference action with a strong showing at Missouri, pushing the Tigers to overtime and outscoring them through three quarters before falling 71-67.
• North Dakota earned its first win streak of the season, defeating Mayville State 79-30 and Dickinson State 65-46 to close out non-conference play.
• The Fighting Hawks recorded their lowest turnover total of the season with 12 and three players scored in double-figures in the victory over Mayville State.
• Omaha snapped a 12-game skid on Dec. 27 as the Mavericks defeated Briar Cliff 90-81.
• Graduate Sarai Estupiñan finished with a career-high 35 points and seven assists in all 40 minutes of action, while freshman Regan Juenemann poured in a career-high 27 points in the win.
